We have an answer for every question about PAC. FAQs about services
1. Why the system of Heat Recovery Water Heater doesn’t need to use electrical energy?
Answer : Because it has a connected system to exchange heat of refrigerant and water. As a result, the air conditioner doesn’t have to work hard and this helps save up on electricity bill as well.
2. What is refrigerant made of?
Answer: Freon or refrigerant used widely in household air conditioner is a CFCs. It has favourable thermodynamic properties which are unreactive chemically and safe. The desired thermodynamic properties are a boiling point somewhat below the target temperature, a high heat of vaporization, a moderate density in liquid form, a relatively high density in gaseous form, and a high critical temperature. Since boiling point and gas density are affected by pressure, refrigerants may be made more suitable for a particular application by choice of operating pressure. The popular Freon for household air-conditioner is R-22 (Freon-22.) Its boiling point is -40.8 'C.
3. If I have a PAC Heat Recovery Water Heater installed, will the air conditioner work harder?
Answer : No, it won’t. The air conditioning compressor will work more efficiently and consume less electricity. Moreover, it will extend the useful life of the air conditioner as well.
4. If I want to have a PAC Heat Recovery Water Heater stalled, do I need to do it with every air conditioner?
Answer : It depends on the usage, size of tank, and numbers of air conditioner. We have 50-200 litre tanks. The 100 litre tank and bigger sizes can be connected to 2 air conditioners.
5. What is the temperature of water we get from the water heater?
Answer : About 50-60 degrees Celsius without using electricity.
6. What kind of water faucet do I need if I have a PAC Heat Recovery Air Conditioner installed?
Answer : You need a mix faucet.
7. If I use the PAC Heat Recovery Water Heater for a long time, will it erode or get rusty?
Answer : PAC Heat Recovery Water Heater is made from stainless steel SUS 316 which is a medical grade stainless. It is clean, safe, and has excellent resistance to various forms of deterioration. Moreover, there are various sizes available for appropriate use.
8. What can the water inside the tank be used for? Why is it safe to use?
Answer : Water inside the tank can be consumed and used for various purposes such as showering, washing dishes, cleaning, cooking and washing clothes. There are 3 models of tanks: PAU, PAS, and AL. For PAU and PAS models, they are made of Polyurethane. For AL model, it contains special types of insulators which are Rockwool and Perlite. Heat prevention foam is also used in order to enable the water tank to keep heat for a long time. It also prevents heat from coming out through the tank and burn the user as well.
9. What are the qualifications of a PPR pipe?
Answer : The pipe is joined by a heat fusion process so that it has a smooth surface and prevents leakage.
10. What is a PPR pipe made of?

11. Is it possible to get hot water without turning on the air-conditioner?
Answer : You can purchase an electric heater which is an additional tool used to collect heat.
12. How many watts does a heater use? How long does the warm water last?
Answer : 1,500 watts. The water can be kept warm up to 3 days.
13. How does a PAC Heat Recovery Water Heater work?
Answer : A PAC Heat Recovery Water Heater generates hot water by using waste heat from air conditioner to get hot water without using electricity or other energy. It cuts the cycle of air conditioning systems at the tube of the liquid pipe (discharge) out of the compressor. The high temperature up to about 60-75 degrees Celsius with liquid pipe to tank. The water tank is filled with water. Refrigerant temperature will be taken through the heat exchanger inside the tank and make the temperature od water higher to 60 degrees Celsius. After the heat exchange, the refrigerant will flow out to the air conditioner system through condensing for ventilation as normal.
14. What are the differences between the 2 models (PAU and PAS) of PAC Heat Recovery Water Heaters?
Answer : 1. PAU model is made from stainless steel which is very durable. It will not chip, crack, or erode. Also, it resists rust, tarnish, and staining.
2. PAS model is made from stainless steel coated with white colour. It is not suitable to clean by rubbing too hard or using a strong liquid cleaner as it might scratch and eventually cause rust.
15. What are the differences between a PAC Heat Recovery Water Heater and a normal water heater?
Answer : A PAC Heat Recovery Water Heater generates hot water by using waste heat from air conditioner. It is different from a typical water heater as the typical water heater uses electricity. Therefore, using a PAC Heat Recovery Water Heater can save up 2 ways – energy and money. Apart from getting free hot water, the air conditioner connected with PAC will reduce the electricity consumption by exchanging heat from refrigerant and water ventilate through condenser. This process enables the air conditioner to work more efficient, more cooling with lower power. It costs down 10-30% and helps extend the useful life of compressor as well.
16. How long does the water can be kept hot without turning on the air conditioner?
Answer : About 3 days.
17. Is it true that if the air conditioner is off, the heating system in the hot water tank won’t start working and the water won’t be hot?
Answer : Yes, it is. Because the heat comes from the air conditioning system directly. But if the temperature in the water tank is not high enough, a water heater can help increase the heat.
18. If I have only one air conditioner, can I also use a hot water tank as well?
Answer : Yes, you can, because there are many sizes of tanks for you to choose from.
19. How long does a hot water tank last?
Answer : It depends on the usage pattern of each user.
20. How long does it take to install a PAC Heat Recovery Water Heater?
Answer : About 6 hours per set.
21. Will there be any issues with the connection of the systems afterwards?
Answer : No, there won’t. What we do is just connect the discharge of the compressor to the hot water tank and use water in that tank to absorb heat from the compressor (water temperature is about 60-75 degrees Celsius) so that’s how we get hot water in the tank. In addition, water is not harmful and fit for drinking.
22. How does a PAC Swimming Pool Heat Pump work?
Answer: The mission of PAC Swimming Pool Heat Pump is to draw the heat warm air into pool water or transit the energy of pool water to air. That is the way it heats up or cools down the pool water. Driven by electricity, the compressor compresses the Freon into gas with high temperature and high pressure; then the gas goes into the condenser (tube and fins heat exchanger), becoming liquid with low temperature and low pressure by heat exchange with outdoor air; Through expansion valve, the liquid refrigerant goes into the evaporator accordingly and the pool water is cooled down.
23. What is the maintainability?
Answer : 1. Release all water from the hot water tank and put some water back into it to clean the sludge at the bottom of the tank.
2. Check the ability of pressure relief valve to see if water is flowing smoothly.
3. Check the valve and other compositions and make sure that there is no leak.
4. Check the ability of all tools.
24. Can it be safely used with 110 v system?
Answer : Yes, it can. But you need an electric transformer to transform 110 v to 220 v first.
25. Is the system of a PAC Heat Recovery Water Heater similar to a normal water heater?
Answer : Not, it is not. Normal tank uses electricity to generate heat while our hot water tank gets hot water from the air conditioning system.
26. What is the difference between hot water from a normal water heater and a PAC Heat Recovery Water Heater?
Answer : You can adjust the temperature of water from a normal water heater but you can’t do that with water from PAC Heat Recovery Water Heater unless you have a mix faucet. However, you can save up 30-60% on your electricity bill using PAC Heat Recovery Water Heater.
27. Do the PAC Heat Recovery Water Heater and the water heater made in Japan have the same work process?
Answer : No, they don’t. The water heater made in Japan uses gas to heat water while hot water from the Heat Recovery Water Heater comes from the air conditioner which helps save more energy and electricity bill.
